Our goal at Nas Financials is to strengthen the Nuba Mountains’ freed and marginalized communities.
At Nas Financials, we are on a mission to empower the marginalized and liberated communities of the Nuba Mountains. Our vision extends beyond traditional financial services; we aim to introduce a comprehensive suite of offerings, including money remittance, forex exchange, savings, loans, and financial education. By providing unprecedented access to financial resources, we aspire to catalyze economic growth and foster regional development.
Embarking on our journey, we have commenced with money remittance services to address a longstanding challenge faced by the people of Nuba Mountains – sending and receiving money. This service eliminates geographical barriers, allowing the Nuba people, no matter where they are, to seamlessly send and receive funds. We are committed to expanding our other services progressively as we grow, with a vision to become a holistic financial institution.
Nas Financials' Intervention
Nas Financials recognizes the dire situation in the Nuba Mountains and aims to address the financial needs of the 1 million residents who lack access to financial services.
Recognizing the plight of Nuba Mountains, Nas Financials steps in as a catalyst for change. With around 1 million residents currently lacking access to any financial service, Nas Financials aims to bridge this gap. For a long time, Nuba Mountains People have relied on informal methods such as saving money at home, seeking loans from local businesses, and faced hurdles in money exchange and remitting money. Nas Financials is not just addressing a problem; we are paving the way for regional development.
Contributing to Development
Nas Financials isn't merely solving financial challenges; we are contributing to the development of Nuba Mountains. By facilitating money flow from citizens and trade, we intend to fund local initiatives and support the region's progress.
A Brief History of the Nuba Mountains Region
Nuba Mountains, a region steeped in history, is home to approximately 2.5 million people of Nubian ethnicity. Liberated by the SPML-N movement, the region faces unique challenges due to political differences with the Sudanese government. This liberation has led to economic and educational marginalization, leaving the people without formal education and financial services.
Founder's Journery
Nas Financials was founded by Almarat Arnu Ngutulu, who personally experienced the difficulties of receiving money from Nuba. This recurring challenge, not only for him but also for many others in the community, prompted Almarat to delve into research. Through surveys and in-person interviews in Nuba, he discovered a widespread need for accessible financial services.
Impact on Economic Development
Research by the World Bank has shown a strong correlation between access to financial services and poverty alleviation. We are driven by the belief that by providing the people of Nuba with access to financial services, we contribute to elevating their living standards and fostering economic development.

This decision is influenced by various factors, including the lack of supporting infrastructure, challenges related to internet accessibility, high levels of illiteracy among our people, and the limited availability of financial institutions in our operating regions.
Our vision is to expand our services to various locations in Nuba and neighboring regions. However, due to current financial constraints, we are operating with a single main office in Kumo. As we grow and enhance our financial capabilities, we aim to establish a presence in additional locations to better serve our community.
